Police Arrest Six Suspects Over Alleged ‘Miracle’ Fraud in Idanre

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested six suspected fraudsters in Idanre over a fake miracle scam. Authorities described the arrest as a major breakthrough in the fight against fraud.

The suspects were caught on February 16, 2026, during an intelligence-led operation by Tactical Teams and Community Safety Officers.

Police spokesman DSP Abayomi Jimoh said the raid followed credible intelligence about a fraud syndicate active in Idanre and nearby areas.

Investigations show the suspects posed as pastors, staging fake miracles to win public trust.

They allegedly exploited victims’ faith by promising divine solutions to health, financial, and personal problems, then defrauded them.

The suspects are named as Fadahunsi, Kolade, Tijani, Iyanuoluwa, Arijesulola, and Ademola.

Police revealed the group worked in a coordinated way, assigning roles to create a convincing façade.

Jimoh said investigations continue to identify victims, measure the fraud’s scale, and track other accomplices.

All six suspects remain in custody and will face charges once investigations conclude.

The Command warned the public to be cautious of people using religion or miracles as cover for crime.

Residents were urged to verify claims before paying money and report suspicious gatherings to police.

Police stressed their commitment to removing criminal elements, relying on intelligence, community support, and strategic operations to protect lives and property in Ondo State.
